Database Conversion Experience:
Over the years Michelle has had much experience with database conversions. Following is a list of different types of conversions that Michelle managed and worked on:

Conversions TO Access FROM:

    • ACT
    • Approach
    • DB2
    • DBase
    • Excel Spreadsheet Files
    • FileMaker Pro
    • FoxPro
    • GoldMine
    • Paradox
Michelle also has experience managing conversion of Access tables structures into SQL or MySQL table structures. Most often Access tables are converted into SQL or MySQL table structures to accomodate a need for increased storage capacity or an increased need for speed on network applications.

Although Access tables can be converted into more robust SQL or MySQL tables, all reports, queries and data-entry screens remain in Access and link to the SQL (or MySQL) table structure.

SQL or MySQL is also used in web database applications. SQL and MySQL can serve as a database foundation for both web site databases and Access databases. Because of this moving to a SQL or MySQL table foundation is a wonderful solution for organizations wishing to share some of their data through their website. A SQL or MySQL foundation allows organizations to manage, store and report out information through an Access frontend, but still share their data with clients, members and prospects over a website.
